Chapter 19 Citizens' Rights

As the national capital, the Taipei City Government spares no effort in pursuing excellence in seeking to raise the city’s competitiveness and its international visibility. In order to protect citizens’ rights, the Taipei City Government has fostered an administration that functions according to the rule of law and is based on the concept of protecting human rights with respect to human rights issues, consumer protection, state compensation, appeals reviews, and an honest and clean government. The goal is for Taipei to set an example for other cities in Taiwan and become an internationally acclaimed model city known and respected for protecting citizens’ rights.
